The mood of writing a blog today has been overshadowed by the recent tragedy in Thousand Oaks last night. Another shooter selfishly went crazy on innocent people, so my heart goes out to the Borderline Bar in Thousand Oaks. God bless and heal all the victims and families involved. Thanks to the unselfish responders who shielded them victims from bullets, and to the police officer Ron Helius for going in alone, and died saving people.
So today instead of writing, I wanted to shine a light on a couple of causes that inspire me, and even help me to stay focused and motivated.
First, I love reading a blog called BeautyBeyondBones by Caralyn Collar. She helps encourage people who suffer from anorexia, and at the same time she blogs about good relevant issues and news that come up. She is really a gifted gal, and I imagine would be so fun to hang out with. She’s like everyone’s best friend. So make you sure to give her a visit, and support what she is doing. Here is her latest post: https://beautybeyondbones.com/2018/11/05/lessons-from-a-five-year-old/
And the second thing that inspires me is an organization who helps disabled kids and teenagers learn to dance ballet. Dancing Dreams in New York is just like it sounds, a dream. Also, who wouldn’t want to go to work everyday dancing, and help disabled people in the process. I so wish they would open up a place here in SoCal as well. People who have these challenges need a safe place to do something productive and fun, and not have to be victims of circumstance. Life is hard as it is, so it’s difficult for most of us to know what they go through. I know, because of my own disability. It feels like an uphill battle all the time, but still there are people who are doing right in the world, so make sure to visit their website, and support them.
